The most convenient and personalized way to visit and learn about the main landmarks of Madrid.
If you are looking for a whole day tour that gives an in-depth look at Madrid’s most iconic and historical sites, then the “Best of Madrid" tour is the one for you. Although it is possible to walk or use public transportation to explore this beautiful city, a private, personalised tour in a comfortable, air-conditioned car is definitely a much more enjoyable way to see it. On the morning of your tour, your Welcome driver will pick you up from your accommodation and take you on your tailor-made journey through the most popular sites in Madrid. Every aspect of your tour is customizable, and points of interest can be added or taken away, however, the following itinerary is one we suggest to use as a base.
You will begin your tour at the Bernabeu Staduim, home to Madrid’s pride and joy, Real Madrid FC. From there you will drive down the picturesque Paseo de la Castellan towards Salamanca, Madrid’s most exclusive neighbourhood. This vibrant quarter is full of designer boutiques, fine dining restaurants, lovely little tapas bars and even the world-famous Plaza de Toros. There are so many unique photo opportunities in Salamanca, but the best has to be outside Las Ventas, the biggest bullring in the world.
Your next stop will be in the oldest neighbourhood in Madrid, Calle Gran Via, where you will have the chance to take a relaxing walk through the stunning Botanical Gardens of Parque del Oeste. This stop is the perfect opportunity to stretch your legs and enjoy the magical history of the Temple of Debob. From the Botanical Gardens you will also have the chance to marvel at the majestic architecture of the Royal Palace of Madrid, reconstructed in 1755. Close by is the historical Atocha railway station, the Triumphal Arch and some of the city’s most stunning fountains.
Your driver will then take you through the cosmopolitan square Puerta del Sol, to Madrid’s spiritual centre, Playa Mayor. In this traditional neighbourhood you can make a stop for lunch in one of the many tapas restaurants, or ask your driver for a personal recommendation. After your delicious Spanish meal, you will then head to Madrid’s renowned museum district to visit some of the most culturally significant museums in the city. In this area you will find the Prado Museum and the Ermita de San Antonio de la Florida.
You can then choose to visit some of Madrid’s most iconic squares such as the Plaza de Colon, Plaza del la Villa and Plaza de España, which is home to the ever popular Monumento a Cervantes. For a touch of history at the end of your tour, your driver will also take you to Madrid’s historic quarter’s most famous parks, Casa de Campo and Retiro. You will then return to your Welcome car to be returned safely to your chosen accommodation, or one of the stops you’ve seen throughout the day.
