Private Sunset Hike & Picnic in The Unknown Meteora of Gavros

Our journey begins in the peaceful village of Gavros, nestled among the spectacular rock formations of the Unknown Meteora. Following a scenic mountain trail, we make our way through rolling hills, rocky paths, and open landscapes, gradually gaining elevation while enjoying ever-changing views of the surrounding cliffs, valleys, and the distant Pindus Mountains. Although the route is of moderate difficulty, it includes uneven terrain and several uphill and downhill sections, making it best suited to participants who are comfortable walking on natural mountain trails.

The trail gradually leads us to a scenic hilltop gazebo overlooking Gavros and the extraordinary rock formations that define this hidden corner of Meteora. As the sun slowly sets, we'll relax and enjoy a carefully prepared outdoor picnic featuring fresh, seasonal, and locally sourced products inspired by traditional Greek and Mediterranean flavours. Depending on the season, your picnic may include homemade delicacies, organic homegrown vegetables, seasonal fruits, homemade jams, and other locally sourced specialities, celebrating the authentic flavours and warm hospitality of the Greek countryside, while watching the last light of day bathe the landscape in shades of gold, orange, and crimson. It's the perfect moment to slow down, savour the scenery, and experience Meteora from a completely different perspective.

As daylight fades, we begin our return hike equipped with headlamps, following quiet mountain paths once used by local shepherds. The gentle transition into the blue hour creates a peaceful atmosphere unlike any other, revealing a completely different side of the landscape under the evening sky.

• This is a guided hiking experience taking place in a natural mountain environment. • This is an relatively easy hike suitable for most participants with a basic level of fitness. • The route covers approximately 4 km (2.5 miles) on natural terrain. • Participants should feel comfortable walking on uneven natural trails, including gentle uphill and downhill sections. • Comfortable hiking shoes or sturdy walking footwear are required. • Suitable for families with children aged 8 years and above . • The return hike takes place after sunset using headlamps provided by your guide . • The experience operates in most weather conditions. However, the itinerary may be modified, postponed, or cancelled if weather or safety conditions require. • The outdoor picnic is designed as a light tasting experience rather than a full meal, featuring a selection of fresh, seasonal, locally sourced products inspired by traditional Greek flavours.  • The outdoor picnic may contain common allergens, including nuts, dairy, gluten, eggs, sesame, and other ingredients.
