Day Trip to Douro Valley from Porto

Take a half-day trip from Porto / Starting Point the famous Douro Valley to learn more about the history of Portuguese Wine and admire dreamy landscapes near the Douro River. On the day of the trip, the Welcome Driver will pick you up from your accommodation in Porto and give the complete sightseeing experience in an air-conditioned, spacious car. All Welcome vehicles are equipped with Wi-FI and water, to ensure you stay hydrated and comfortable during your sightseeing.

On your way to different towns, you will have a chance to stop at the most picturesque locations and admire the wonders of Portugal. Upon your request, it is possible to have lunch or dinner at the local restaurant, recommended by the Welcome Driver. At each stop, your friendly driver will answer all the questions you may have, share the local knowledge and more tips about each destination.

After an hour of you will be arriving on your first stop within the Valley, Provesende Village . Stroll around the narrow streets of this typical Portuguese small village and stop for some shopping of traditional products. Provesende sits on top of the Valley offering magnificent views for unforgettable photos.

Next, you are going to visit Amarante ad the Church of the Convent of São Gonçalo. Then continue on to Pinhao to admire the scenery and explore this lovely village at your own pace. Your driver will suggest paying a visit to the famous Pinhao Train Station to view its blue-and-white tile murals depicting the scenic countryside and swathes of vineyards that make up the Douro landscape.

Moving on you will have the chance to take a boat trip within the Douro River and see the magnificent views of the valley from the water if you wish to.

Douro Valley is famous for its tradition to produce great wines of different varieties. Visit a winery and together with your driver that will help you find the best, do a Wine Tasting  before ending your ride with some lunch to a traditional Portuguese restaurant after your driver's recommendation.

At the end of your trip, your friendly Welcome driver will take you back to your hotel or apartment in Porto with your senses full of scents and tastes!

They cannot accompany you to the sights, but will provide extended historical and local information to help you get the feeling of the city.

Please know that we are unable to pick up, start or stop this sightseeing ride from or to the airport/port/train stations.

Kindly share any special requirements, such as traveling with a service animal or needing extra assistance, when booking your ride. This ensures a smooth and enjoyable experience for you.

After booking, we share all driver and car info, and the driver will wait for you at the pickup location you have chosen.

For 1–3 people: A comfortable sedan will be assigned to your group.
