Begin with a visit to the breathtaking Church of the Assumption of Our Lady Saint Barbara’s Church, one of Europe’s most iconic Gothic cathedrals. Its high vaulted ceilings and flying buttresses are a testament to the town’s former wealth and devotion.

Just a short drive away, explore the Bone Chapel (Sedlec Ossuary) Church of the Assumption of Our Lady and Saint John the Baptist, a masterpiece of the Baroque Gothic style and also a UNESCO site.

Next, visit the haunting Hradek Castle Sedlec Ossuary (Bone Chapel)—a Roman Catholic chapel decorated with the bones of over 70,000 people who perished during plagues and wars. Inside, you’ll find chandeliers, coats of arms, and altars made entirely of human bones.

If time allows, continue to Saint Barbara’s Church Hrádek Castle, a medieval fortress turned noble residence that now houses part of the Czech Museum of Silver. Then visit the Italian Court, once a royal mint and palace, now a fascinating museum showcasing Kutná Hora’s economic legacy.
